The BEST Brownies Recipe EVER!

Hey Y’all! This past week I realized that I am a Brownies Boss! They are probably my 2nd favorite type of dessert. Brownies with nuts are almost always my preference and sometimes even better I make a frosting to go on top and push it further. Since, that wasn’t enough however, I chose to add Vanilla Ice Cream and sprinkles of course!   I also showed great restraint because I sincerely wanted to add chocolate chips to the batter too. (sigh)  In terms of homemade recipes I feel the Brownie is the easiest to make but, this recipe is even simpler because you get to use a box mix and that’s even easier for the kiddos!

I know to all my scratch bakers the though isn’t ideal but, truly you will not be disappointed and this makes it even easier for those who hate scratch recipes!  My favorite brownie nut go to is a Walnut but, sometimes I realize there’s like 7 left in the package. ; )

Does anyone else hold onto every remaining nut you have in a package? Let’s say you use not quite all of the pecans or walnuts or almonds or any kinda nut and you know… very well that it’s not enough for anything else… Do you save them or do you just eat them? You should save them if you’re not. Be like me and have 327 random packages of nuts in plastic bags in the freezer because then when you want to make a brownie full of random nuts you don’t have to buy any! Just add your collection and viola you have a beautiful thing. Side note: I avoid peanuts in baking UNLESS it’s a cookie. They simply don’t belong inside a cake or brownies but, are often great as a topping when crushed.

So are you ready to make these Brownies yet? They’re amazing y’all and they’re decadent and they’re EASY as can be y’all.

The BEST Brownies Recipe EVER!

  • Two Boxes of Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix
  • 12 tablespoons of melted butter (1 and ½ sticks, 6 ounces) Salted
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup of buttermilk
  • 2 cups of milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of walnuts or pecans or a mixture of any kind you want except maybe peanuts

  1. Using a large mixing bowl pour in all the brownie mixes.
  2. Add melted butter & buttermilk and mix.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla
  4. Mix until all blended and then add your nuts
  5. Using a 13x9 baking pan spray it well with non-stick spray and pour the batter in. Using an offset spatula or a knife make sure it’s as even as possible and bake in a pre-heated oven at 325 degrees for about 40 minutes.
  6. Check and make sure there is no liquid batter and they’re good! Don't overcook them!
  7. Immediately following coming out of the oven you want to pour your chocolate chips on top of the brownies. Allow them to set for about 15 minutes and then spread them out. They’ll essentially be frosting at this point and they’re lovely!

You can add additional chopped nuts on top to make it known they are full of nuts, but, sometimes in my house when you lay out a dozen pecans to top them with someone eats 7 while they’re waiting. Then another someone comes to chop up the pecans and learns plans change. ; )

Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing at least 1 full hour and they’re amazing!
